The Vision
Drawing inspiration from the verdant surrounding landscape, Starfall and Moonrise provide a tranquil sanctuary in a breathtaking location. The architecture, by renowned local firm Harley Graham Architecture, is strikingly modern, while the residences sit naturally in the hillside with views of Byron Bay.
New York City–based interior designer Piper Skillman focused on connecting the homes to their environments — drawing on the surrounding landscape and Australian craftspeople to create a seamless indoor-outdoor experience.
The Craft
The relaxed luxury synonymous with Wategos permeates a range of interior spaces. Multiple seating areas invite engagement, while four bedrooms provide private, tranquil retreats. Bespoke furniture spotlights the natural beauty of organic materials — custom pieces by Mark Tuckey, Jardan, Tsar Carpets and other Australian makers.
Original art by Rikki Kasso, Michael Whiteread, Rebekah Stuart and John Kerry sits against a palette of natural fibres, stone, timber and hand-finished micro-cement. A spectrum of green and blue accents pulls the foliage, Pacific Ocean and endless sky into the interior.
